Fluid Entertainment Chooses GNi to Host Emerald Island
GNi announced today that Fluid Entertainment has chosen GNi’s Dedicated Hosting Environment to host their expanding list of MMOG titles starting with Emerald Island, a children's MMOG (massively multiplayer online game).
“Beyond their vast experience in the MMOG hosting field, what attracted us to GNi is their commitment to hosting using a more environmentally responsible solution. We felt this was a good match for the release of Emerald Island, because it teaches kids about the environment and being “eco-friendly” stated Scott Mathews, Founder and Chief Creative Officer.
“Hosting this ecologically minded game designed to educate children is a nice compliment as GNi continues to engineer into our solution a heavier focus on environmental sustainability”, stated Philip Bouchard, GNI’s CEO. “Hosting has traditionally been known for using large quantities of electric power. With the advent of new lower power consumption technologies, we are rapidly implementing these to deliver the highest level of performance while reducing the impact to the environment” continued Bouchard.
GNi’s announcement of the addition of Emerald Island follows a flurry of new MMOG clients recently announced by the rapidly expanding Infrastructure-as-a-Service company based in San Jose California. Rather than purchasing servers, software, data center space or network equipment, clients instead buy those resources as a fully outsourced service in the growing adoption of the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) model.
